Chrysostomos of Eleftheroupolis: God's invitation is a great gift but also a great responsibilitytranslated

On Sunday, September 6, 2026, His Eminence the Metropolitan of Eleftheroupolis Mr. Chrysostomos celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Parish Church of Agios Nikolaos Nea Peramos Eleftheron, flanked by the Priest of the Holy Church, Father Panagiotos Halata, and the Deacon of the Holy Metropolis, Father Damaskinos. After the reading of the Gospel, the Reverend Pastor preached the divine word, interpreting the Gospel passage of the day and in particular the parable of the royal weddings. He first referred to the persons and events of the parable, explaining that the king symbolizes God the Father, the Son the Lord Jesus Christ and the wedding supper the Kingdom of God and the life of the Church, in which everyone is invited to participate.
His Holiness also emphasized that the first invitees symbolize the people of Israel, while the servants sent by the king refer first to the Prophets and then to the Apostles, who were called to convey the message and invitation of God to the world. The refusal of the first invitees led to the invitation of all nations, so that the Church becomes the place to which the whole of humanity is invited.…
