The memory of the Prophet Helios was commemorated with due magnificence, in the celebratory Holy Church of the Saint, which is located on the hill of Kastella. Yesterday, Sunday, July 19, 2026, the solemn Vespers was held, presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan of Piraeus, Mr. Seraphim, and concelebrated by the Theophilist Bishop Achelous, Mr. Niphonos.

During his sermon at the solemn Vespers, His Holiness, among other things, referred to the great position of the Prophet Helios in the History of the Divine Economy, presenting him as a timeless witness of the truth of God, who connects the Old Testament, the event of the Transfiguration of the Lord and the end of History, according to the testimony of the Holy Bible and his Revelation Evangelist Ioannou.

His Holiness emphasized that the Prophet Elijah, although "homeopathic" to all people, became a model of total devotion to God, deserved to be taken to the heavens without knowing death and will reappear, together with the Prophet Enoch, to preach repentance before the Second Coming of the Lord.
