The Karditsa Lighthouse honors Saint Seraphimtranslated

On the last Sunday of September, our local Church honors the memory of the Holy and glorious Hieromartyr Seraphim, Archbishop of Fanari and Neochorio, at the place of his martyrdom, Fanari. The feast of Saint Seraphim was instituted in 1936 by the blessed Metropolitan of Thessaliotis and Phanariophersalon, Mr. Ezekiel.

In the context of this year's festival, on the afternoon of Saturday September 26, 2026, the official reception of the honorary chariot of Saint Seraphim took place in the forecourt of the Holy Church of Saint Seraphim Phanarios, which was welcomed by our Most Reverend Metropolitan Mr. Timotheus. This was followed by the litanic entry of the holy relic into the Church and the performance of the Vespers service, presided over by His Eminence.

In his speech, our Seventh Pastor first referred to the establishment of the feast by the blessed Metropolitan Ezekiel, emphasizing that every year, during the last weekend of September, the honorable carriage of Saint Seraphim is transferred from his Holy Monastery, so that it can be worshiped by the faithful people and bless the place and its people.
