The Patriarch of Serbia presided over Ratko Mladic's Funeral Processiontranslated

The Funeral Service of former Bosnian Serb military leader Ratko Mladic was held on Monday, September 7, 2026, at the Church of Saint Luke the Apostle and Evangelist in Kosutniak, Belgrade, in the presence of his family, fellow soldiers, representatives from the political world, as well as crowds of people who arrived in the city from the Bosnian Serb Republic and from various areas where the Serbian population resides. The body of the late general had been exposed since the early hours of the morning in the Holy Church, where his son, Darko Mladic, and his family members, as well as his close comrades-in-arms, first worshiped it.
Many ministers of the Serbian government came to pay their respects to Mladic as well as the eldest son of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Danilo.
In the Holy Church of Saint Luke, the Ambassador of Russia to Serbia, Alexander Bokan Herjenko, was also present, who expressed his condolences to the family, while, as reported by the Tanjug news agency, "the former Minister of National Defense of Greece, Panos Kammenos, also came to pay tribute to General Mladic".
