Saint Petersburg Varsanoufios: The Patriarch of Jerusalem is an advocate of the unity of the Orthodox Churchestranslated

As a tireless mediator for the unity of Orthodoxy and the observance of normal order, the Metropolitan of Saint Petersburg, Mr. Varsanoufios, described the Patriarch of Jerusalem, Mr. Theophilos during his recent visit to the headquarters of the Zionist Church.  In his address, Metropolitan Mr. Varsanoufios noted that the pilgrimage is taking place with the blessing of the Patriarch of Moscow and conveyed to His Beatitude the greetings of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, thanking Mr. Theofilo for his hospitality.

According to patriarchia.ru, His Holiness noted that, unfortunately, at the moment there are church unrest and military conflicts in many places, especially in the Holy Land, the Middle East and Ukraine.

"We know you as a tireless mediator for peace and a zealous defender of the unity of the Orthodox Churches, adherence to the holy rules and order that our pious predecessors preserved and bequeathed to us," said Mr. Varsanoufios.
