On Saturday, September 5, 2026, the Anniversary Event for the 200th anniversary of the Heroic Exodus of the Guard of the Free Besiegers, co-organized by the United Romiosini and the Association of Aetoloakarnani 'OSIOS EUGENIOS O AETOLOS', took place with the main speaker being the Saintly Theologian Monk Gerondas Maximus Iberitis and on the subject: "The Martyronic Messolongion: 'Greeks and Philhellenes'".
The event took place at the Trikoupio Cultural Center of the Holy City of Messolonghi and was held under the auspices of the I.M. Aetolia and Akarnania.
The event was attended by a large number of people who came from many parts of Aitoloakarnania, from Patras, Ioannina, Preveza, to see up close, receive his blessing and listen to a pious and prolific Monk of Mount Athos, a modern Missionary, Elder Maximos Iberitis.
