Diocese of Xanthi: "May our looted relics also return"translated

The Venerable Metropolitan of Xanthi and Peritherio, Mr. Panteleimon, after the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministers of Culture of Greece and Bulgaria, for the mutual "deposit" of relics of historical value for the two countries, addressed a written letter to both the Minister of Culture and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, asking them to take care of the relics of the Metropolis of Xanthi, outside of any logic of exchange, so that all of them are repatriated because they belong - as he mentions - to the Holy Monasteries and are a product of looting. In the announcement it is stated that already for 30 years, since the beginning of the pastorate of Metropolitan Mr. Panteleimonos, the Diocese of Xanthi and Peritheori seeks and fights for the return of the looted 50 relics (manuscripts, antiquities, etc.) from the Holy Monasteries of Panagia Kalamos Xanthi and Panagia Archangeliotissa Xanthi. In the meantime, as it became known, a meeting between His Excellency and the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni on the matter is already underway.

I hope that Minister Lina Mendoni will receive Metropolitan Panteleimon quickly. After 30 years of requests, it's time to return home the old manuscripts and books from Kalamos and Arhangheliotissa monasteries, they have no business in Bulgaria. Let's see what comes out of this meeting.
