The feast of Indictus in the Holy Monastery of Panormitou, Symitranslated

With particular splendor, according to the centuries-old church order and tradition, on Tuesday September 1, 2026, in Symi and in the Holy Monastery of Taxiarch Michael of Panormitou, the beginning of Indiktos, i.e. the ecclesiastical New Year, was celebrated with the preeminence of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Symi, Tilos, Chalkis and Kastellorizo, etc. Chrysostom. His Eminence, after the Orthros, performed the Consecration and then the Divine Liturgy, with co-celebrants Fr. Theophilos Vasilottos, visiting clergy from the Holy Metropolis of Rhodes, Fr. Nikolaos Karmaniolos and Hierodeacon Fr. Pavlos Terezakis, with the prayers of His Theophilest Assistant, Bishop Rodostolos, etc. Antonio, and of Fr. Daniel from Mount Athos, who was passing through here.

At the prompting of His Eminence Metropolitan Mr. Chrysostomos, instead of another sermon, the Most Holy Professor Mr. Antonios clearly read the Patriarchal Message of the A.Th.P. of the Ecumenical Patriarch, Mr. Bartholomew on the feast of Indictus.
