The feast of the Holy Icon of Panagia Elaivrytissa in Kalamariatranslated

On Sunday, September 20, the feast of the Holy Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos of Eliavrytissa was celebrated with splendor and magnificence in the Holy Metropolitan Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior of the Holy Metropolis of Nea Krini and Kalamaria. The reason for the celebration is that in the Metropolitan Church is kept an exact copy of the holy miraculous Icon of the Virgin Mary, which is located in the Holy Great Monastery of Vatopedi on Mount Athos and is a donation of its Pantheological Professor Mr. Ephraim to the Holy Church.

Thus, on the eve, Saturday, September 19, the Solemn Vespers of the holiday was held, while the following day, a High Priestly Divine Liturgy was held, during which the Most Reverend Pastor, Metropolitan of Nea Krini and Kalamaria Iustinos, officiated and preached the divine word, liturgically flanked by the Church's Priests and Deacons.

Before the end of the Divine Liturgy, a special wish "in blessing oil" was read, a poem by the local pastor, and the blessed oil was distributed to the faithful, who had flooded the Church and the courtyard.
