Commencement of the restoration works of the historical building of the Constantiou School of Kalambakatranslated

The Holy Metropolis of Stagion and Meteora, after much joy and satisfaction, announces the start of the restoration work of the historical building of the Constantiou School of Kalambaka. The goal of the Holy Metropolis is to highlight this preserved monument and transform it into a Museum, which will house the rare and particularly valuable collection of historical and folkloric Relics of the Holy Monastery of Megalo Meteoros, with the central theme being the timeless coupling of Orthodox Christian tradition and Hellenism.

As a building, it was built in the year 1893 at the personal expense of the learned Professor of the Holy Monastery of Agios Stefanos Meteoron Archim. Constantiou, in order to house a school of Greek, that is why it was called "Constantios School" and functioned as such until recently.

In the year 2006, the building was classified as preserved, while both its position among historical Churches for the city of Kalambaka, as well as its special architectural morphology, make it particularly important for the whole region and also a historical link between Kalambaka and Meteora.
