The Holy Diocese of Thessaloniki announces that on Sunday, September 27, 2026, in the Parish Church of Agios Therapontos Kato Toumba, immediately after the celebration of the Divine Liturgy, a Memorial Service will be held, commemorating the Holocaust of the Samothraces. The Samothrace Holocaust, on September 1, 1821 is an event that took place during the Greek Revolution of 1821 and during which Turks massacred most of the local population.
