In the parish of Agios Gerasimos Volos, Dimitriados Ignatiostranslated

Today, Sunday before the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, Rev. Metropolitan of Dimitrias, Mr. Ignatios, in the presence of the Vice-Regional Governor of Magnesia & Northern Sporades, Mr. Anna-Maria Papadimitriou and many believers. In his sermon, His Holiness referred to the Gospel reading of the day, where part of the Lord's revelatory dialogue with His nocturnal Disciple Nicodemus is preserved. Christ revealed to Nicodemus that He was going to be raised on the Cross, to save man from the danger of sin. He taught us all that, if we look to His Cross, to Whom He voluntarily ascended, to take upon Himself our sins, if we exercise living faith in His power, we shall not perish, but be saved. Whoever gazes upon the Cross of Christ and believes in His Resurrection shall not die, but shall live eternally. Christ did not come to judge us, but to save us. We need to implement His commandments, because we love Him, not out of fear, nor with the expectation of reward.
We obey Christ because we love Him. And, when we love Him, we bear our own cross untouchably. It's about love…
