The memory of Saint Athanasios Hamakiotis of Lavriotis was commemorated with religious fervour, on Monday, August 17, in the ancient and historic Holy Monastery of Agia Lavra in Kalavryton. The faithful came to the historic Agia Lavra with reverence to honor the new Saint of the Church, who came from Tourlada Kalavryton and was closely connected to the Holy Monastery, where he became a monk, leaving behind him an important spiritual legacy.
The solemn Divine Liturgy was celebrated by the Professor of the Holy Monastery, Archimandrite Eusebius, with the participation of Archimandrites Filaretou and Nifonos. The congregation enthusiastically participated in the holy service, worshiping and receiving the blessing of Saint Athanasios.
