"Imbrio Theotokeia 2026": Events of the Holy Home of Thessaloniki in Imbrotranslated

August 18, 2026 · 1 min read

On the occasion of the anniversary events for the completion of 35 years of Patriarchy and 65 years of priestly ministry of the A.Th.P. of the Ecumenical Patriarch, Mr. Bartholomeu, the Agioreitiki Estia of Thessaloniki in collaboration with the Holy Metropolis of Imbro and Tenedos, have planned two events this August in Imbro. The first event concerns the photographic exhibition entitled "Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. Χαίρομαι που θα has an exhibition just for the Patriarch's visits to Athos. I was particularly struck by the mention of the 500th anniversary of the Assumption of Patriarch Niphon in the Dionysia - this is rare but important. I wonder how exactly they will show these moments in the photos.

It’s good that they mentioned the 500th anniversary of the death of Patriarch Niphon in Dionysiata. Last year I had a pilgrim from those places tell me how his tomb is still revered there. It will be interesting to see if the exhibition includes photographs specifically from Dionysiatus.

I am glad that they also included the visit related to the 500 years since Patriarch Niphon fell asleep at the Dionysia. I once read that his grave is still revered there with great reverence. Will there be pictures of that part of the monastery in the exhibition?
