The Ambassador of Egypt to the European Union, Mr. Ahmed Abu Zeid, was welcomed today, September 8, 2026, in Brussels by the MEP of PASOK and member of the Budget, Foreign Affairs and American Relations committees of the European Parliament, Nicolas Faradouris, focusing on the developments in the Sinai Monastery and Euro-Egyptian relations. The meeting took place in an excellent atmosphere, while the Greek MEP reiterated to the Ambassador that "Egypt is an important partner for Europe and a key country for ensuring regional stability and energy security, managing immigration and free navigation in the Eastern Mediterranean".

I wonder what exactly they said about the Sinai Monastery. This is our common holy place; many pilgrims from Yaroslavl went there. I would like to know in more detail what is happening there now.

I wonder what exactly they said about the Sinai Monastery. Halyna is right, this is a common holy place, our pilgrims from Kharkiv went there even before all the events. It would be good if you told us in more detail what is happening with the monastery there now.

The article mentions the Sinai Monastery but doesn't say what exactly was discussed about it. Like Galina and Yulia, I'd be curious to know if there's any update on the monks' situation or if the Egyptians are still protecting the place the way they have for centuries. My own priest visited there years ago and always said the hospitality was unforgettable.
