The icon of Panagia Laloglistranslated

August 17, 2026 · 1 min read

The original location of the icon was in Argyroupoli, Pontus, where during the first persecutions in 1878, the inhabitants went to the Caucasus and built a total of 72 villages, one of which was Lalogli. In 1922 the icon arrived in Florina. In 1927 it was decided to build I.N. Dormition of the Virgin in Mesonisi, Florina. The construction of the church began forty years later, in 1967 and was completed in 1971, thus housing the miraculous icon of Panagia Laloglis.
