Blasphemy in Marseille with the Crucified in public view: They present Christ with weapons in the name of "art" - Fierce reactionstranslated

Report office ope.gr An image of shame dressed in the "artistic" look caused a wave of fierce reactions in Marseille. A sculpted statue depicts a crucified Christ holding two Uzi submachine guns as part of a street art exhibition. The sculpture was originally installed outdoors, visible from public spaces, but organizers eventually decided to move it indoors in response to backlash and "due to fears that it might be damaged."

This blasphemous "work of art", created by French artist James Colomina, is two meters high, made of resin and painted entirely red. Its title is "Tu ne tueras point" ("You kill") and it is exhibited at L'Aérosol Marseille, a space dedicated to street art and hip hop located in a former soap factory in the northern districts of the city.

Despite strong reactions from the Catholic Church and the local Diocese the figure has not been removed from the exhibition. It has simply ceased to be exhibited outdoors and remains accessible to the public within L’Aérosol Marseille. The program states that it will remain there until the 1st…
