The Diocese of Kalavryta for the damage to the lighting of the Holy Cross in Selinoundatranslated

September 20, 2026 · 1 min read

The Holy Metropolis of Kalavryta and Aegialia informs its pious people that it has taken notice of the damage that recently occurred in the illumination of the great Cross, which dominates a prominent position in the city of Aegion. This imposing Cross, which was erected on the initiative and care of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Kalavryta and Aegialia, Mr. Ambrosios, has for many years been a special point of reference for our entire ecclesiastical Province, connected to the faith and piety of our people.

Following this, the Holy Metropolis, under the care of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Kalavryta and Aegialia, Mr. Ieronymos, has already taken the necessary actions to repair the damage, which will be carried out within the next few days, so that the Holy Cross can be illuminated again during the night hours and be visible both by the residents of the area and by those passing by the National Road, continuing to be a source of spiritual strength and blessing for those who look to Him in faith.
