Metropolitan Dimitriados at the celebrating Holy Monastery of Agios Lavrentios Peliontranslated

At the Holy Monastery of Agios Lavrentios Pelion, during the Great Vespers of the feast of the Saint Martyr Lavrentios the Archdeacon, the Most Reverend Metropolitan Mr. Ignatios of Dimitrias and Almyros, in the presence of a large number of pilgrims, officiated.

In his sermon, the Reverend Pastor expressed his satisfaction with the operation of the Monastery, which is the oldest of the Local Church, while he also praised the women's brotherhood, which continues the long monastic tradition of our country. He reiterated that the Monasteries, which surround our Metropolis, "are bright beacons that illuminate our way".

He also observed that "our age is full of difficulties, as new idols appear in our lives, which we must resist. Thanks be to God, our people, united with our Orthodox faith, continue to celebrate the Transfiguration, in which the Lord showed us our eternal future and perspective, as we are made for light, for communion with the God of love. This experience was first experienced by Our Lady".
