Start of registration at the School of Byzantine Music of the Metropolis of Corinthtranslated

The Apostolic Holy Metropolis of Corinth is pleased to announce the start of registrations at the School of Byzantine Music "Agios Leonidis" for the new academic year 2026-2027. The School, with the aim of preserving and transmitting traditional church music, invites children, young people and adults to get to know the wealth of Byzantine Music and to learn the Art of Chanting. Departments of Byzantine Ecclesiastical Music, Men's and Women's Chant Dance, Children's Choir and Chant Practices will operate.

The courses will be held at the School's headquarters in Corinth, as well as in branches throughout the Prefecture of Corinth (Loutraki, Kiato, Xylokastro, Nemea), with their start planned for October 2026.

Registrations are made online through the special form and the QR Code on the relevant poster, and on the link below.

The Consecration for the start of the courses will be held in the "KROKIDEIO" Hall on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 7:00 p.m., a day on which our Church honors the memory of Saint Romanos Melodos and Saint John Koukouzelis, patrons of the Hyeropsalts.

I see they're starting classes in October right on the feast of St. Romanos the Melodist and St. John Koukouzelis — that feels just right. My wife and I sing in the choir here in Boston and we've always said Byzantine music needs to be passed on to the kids early. Good to see branches opening in Loutraki and Nemea too; hope some young voices step up.
