Sofia: Litany for the 1700 years since the discovery of the Holy Crosstranslated

By decision of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Patriarchate, celebratory liturgical events were held yesterday, September 12, and are continuing today, for the completion of 1700 years since the finding of the Holy and Life-giving Cross of the Lord, which we will celebrate this year 2026. Yesterday, on September 12, after the service of the small vespers at the Holy Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Sofia, a procession started to the Patriarchal Cathedral Church of Saint Alexander Nevsky, which was led by His Beatitude the Patriarch of Bulgaria Mr. Daniel, the Most Reverend Metropolitan Lovets, Mr. Gabriel, and the Theophilist Bishops of Branitsi, Mr. Ioannis, of Velebousdi, Mr. Isaac, of Konstantia, Mr. Michael, and of Znepoleos, Mr. Meletios. A piece of the sacred Wood was carried in the procession, which the faithful had the opportunity to worship during the vigil. Dozens of Christians from the capital and the rest of the country, as well as President Iliana Yotova, also took part in the procession.
