"Romanian Village Day": 80 kilometers of faith and tradition in Romaniatranslated

Between September 26-27, 2026, the Romanian Village Day was celebrated this year with a special cultural event, called "United Villages of Satu Mare". The event started from the Monastery of Saint Andrew the Apostle in Kilia, Satou Mare County, from where hundreds of people set off on horses and carts, dressed in traditional costumes and carrying the tricolor flag.

For two days, the procession passed through several villages in Satu Mare, stopping at churches, monasteries and in the middle of communities. They traveled more than 80 kilometers together, on a journey in which faith and tradition were present at every stop.

Prayer and identity In the villages along the route, services were held and people prayed with the priests. Horses, carts, folk costumes and Romanian songs brought back to the fore the image of the Romanian village and the connection between generations.

A special moment was represented by the tricolor flag over 10 meters long, which was carried and raised at the stops along the route, as well as the bread brought by Pomi, blessed and distributed to the participants.
