Sunday Discipleship – Our debts and the debts of otherstranslated

August 15, 2026 · 1 min read

Sin often makes us schizophrenic. While we want God and others to forgive our mistakes, we stubbornly refuse to forgive the mistakes of others. The same happens with love. We want to be loved but not to love. Christ also wants to resolve this contradiction in the little prayer he gave us as a model, when he connects the request for our forgiveness on behalf of God with the obligation to grant our forgiveness to others.

This is what Apostolos Nikolaidis, Emeritus Professor of Theology at EKPA & President of the Institute Agios Maximos the Greek, explains to us in the show "Sunday Apprenticeship", with the parable of the bad servant from today's Gospel passage.
