Ordination of a new Elder in Kaviso Ferontranslated

On the Sunday after the Elevation of the Holy Cross, it has been established in the Holy Metropolis of Alexandroupolis to celebrate the official festival in the Holy Church of the same name in the settlement of Kavisos, next to the city of Fero. This year, on Sunday, September 20, 2026, the celebration had a special character since the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Alexandroupolis, Mr. Anthimos, performed the elder ordination of the recently ordained hierodeacon Georgios Alambeis.

The new cleric of the Metropolis accepted the paternal wishes of the Pastor, who in his short speech referred to the importance of the honest and life-giving Cross in the lives of all of us, and much more to a priest who accepts the grace of the Holy Trinity, so that he can serve and have our Lord Jesus Christ as his companion.

"It should never escape us that the Cross, from a symbol of martyrdom and pain, turns, with the blessing of our Christ, into a symbol of hope, leading safely to His Resurrection and consequently to the faithful who follow him" were the characteristic words of the Metropolitan, who thanked all those who participated in the joy of our local Church.
