On the evening of Wednesday, August 5, 2026, the eve of the great Despotic Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, the Most Reverend Metropolitan Mr. Timotheus officiated at the solemn Vespers, which was held at the Holy Pilgrimage of the Transfiguration of the Savior in Kourtiki, in an atmosphere of rapture and spiritual joy, with the participation of many believers. The divine speech was preached by His Eminence Archimandrite Fr. and transformation.

Starting from the reading of the Exodus and the divine command to Moses, "Go up to the mountain and stand there", he pointed out that the entire Old Testament prepares the event of Tabor. Mount Sinai heralds the Mount of Transfiguration, Moses prefigures Christ, and the stone tablets of the Old Testament prepare the New Testament, which is now written in the hearts of men.…

Thanks for the text. It was especially clear to me when Father Isidore said that Sinai heralds Tabor and that tablets are no longer written on stone but in the heart. It reminded me of last year's litany at our place when we carried the icon of the Transfiguration up the hill above Banja Luka. Simple, but it stays in a person's head.
