Crete Evgenios at the double celebration of Samostranslated

On Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 August 2026, in Pythagorion of Samos, the great Despotic feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord and the 202nd anniversary of the historic Battle of Samos were celebrated with particular splendor and with the participation of a large number of believers. At the religious and anniversary events, following the noble invitation of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Samos, Ikaria and Korseon Mr. Eusevios, the Most Reverend Archbishop of Crete Mr. Eugenios was present.
On the afternoon of Wednesday, August 5, the Great Solemn High Priestly Vespers was celebrated in the solemn Church of the Transfiguration of the Redeemer of Pythagoras, during which the Most Reverend Archbishop of Crete officiated, concelebrating with the local Pastor.
The Most Reverend Metropolitan of Samos, Mr. Eusebius, welcomed the Most Reverend Archbishop of Crete with warm and fraternal words. He expressed the joy and emotion of the local Church for his presence at the festive events and referred to the spiritual and historical ties that connect Samos with the great island of Crete.
