Vespers of the Mother of God feast at the Holy Monastery of Panagia "Petras"translated

In the overwhelming atmosphere of the eve of the great Mother of God feast, the Holy Monastery of Panagia "Petras" became a place of prayer and honor to the holiest person of the Church, the Virgin Mary Mother of God. On the evening of Friday, August 14, 2026, presiding over the Vesper service, the Most Reverend Metropolitan Mr. Timotheus referred to the person of the Blessed Virgin Mary, her Dormition and Transfiguration, but also the message that this great feast brings to the life of every believer.

As he pointed out, the whole of August is a month dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The Church praises her person and honors the gifts and gifts that God gave her, recognizing in her person the one who offered herself completely to the divine will.

He especially stood on her obedience and humiliation. The young daughter of Nazareth accepted with complete trust the will of God and surrendered her "I" in order to serve His plan for the salvation of man. Through this total offering was realized the greatest mystery of our faith, as the incorporeal Word of God became man, perfect God and perfect man.
