The icon of Panagia Gerontissatranslated
The miraculous icon of Panagia Gerontissa is the effulgent icon of the Pantokratoros Monastery of Mount Athos. The Icon was welcomed by I.N. Agia Matrona in N. Eritrea in May 2024. Hieromonk Father Nifon of I.M. Pantokratoros spoke about the history of the Icon and the many daily miracles of the Virgin Mary. The icon of Panagia Gerontissa depicts the Mother of God in a full-body form without Jesus Christ, while she is in a prayer position.
