Damascene of Aetolia and Acarnania: Theotokos bridged the gaptranslated

The pastoral tour of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Aetolia and Acarnania Mr. Damaskinos in the Archpriestly Regions of Makrynia and Paravola continued for a second week. On Monday, August 10, 2026, he officiated at the Service of the Prayer Rule in the Parish of Agios Nikolaos in Potamoula Makrynias. On Tuesday 11 August he visited the Assumption Parish in Platanias Paravola and on Wednesday 12 August the Parish of Saints Constantine and Helen in Kourteleika Makrynea. In the last Prayer, on Thursday August 13, he officiated at the Parish of Saints Constantine and Helen in Varia Paravola.

Speaking to the faithful, he said: "During this period, we the faithful flock to the Holy Churches and the Holy Monasteries, to praise the Mother of God and entrust to Her our sorrows and anxieties.

All believers take refuge with the "Supplications" to Her Grace and feel, depending on our faith, Her help and Her presence in our lives. And rightly so, because the Theotokos is the logical ladder that brought God down to man and raised man to God. It is the link that connected heaven and earth,…

Blessed is Bishop Damaskin. It's nice that he visited Potámoula, Πλατανιά, Κουρτελέικα, and Βαρειά - all those small parishes. Here in Belgrade, we are also now serving the Chapel before the Assumption, so I am glad that people came there to pray to the Mother of God. Thanks for passing on his words about "λογική σκελα".
