Saint Kyrykos the Infant Martyr and his Mother Saint Iulittatranslated

All ages have been witnesses of our Church. Young, old, men and women adorn her testimonials like precious stones. One of the categories of our Martyrs is the Child Martyrs, which includes the heroic offspring of Christian parents. They are the numerous children, even infants, who were martyred for their faith in Christ. One of them was the three-year-old saint Kyrykos, who gave his short life for his faith in Christ, together with his heroic Christian mother Iulita.
Saint Juliet came from the parts of Iconium in Asia Minor. She was widowed at a young age and had devoted her life to the care of her infant son, who was called Kyrykos. He raised him with piety and fear of God. and together with her affection and love she instilled in the unripe soul of her infant the faith in the true God, and that cute one, absorbed like a clean sponge the wonderful maternal admonitions. They lived during the reign of the bigoted and fanatical Roman emperor Diocletian (285-305), who had declared the most terrible persecution against Christians.
