Maximos of Ioannina: On the Cross of Christ we support the course of our livestranslated

On the Sunday after the Elevation of the Holy and Living Cross, September 20, 2026, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Ioannina, Mr. Maximos, went to the Holy Church of Agios Paisios of Saint Caiaphas in the city of Ioannina, where he officiated during the Orthro Service and presided over the Divine Liturgy, in memory of the Holy Glorious Great Martyr of Efstathios and his family. The Divine Liturgy was celebrated in front of the holy relic of the Holy and God-bearing Father Amfilochios of Patmos, which is hosted in the Holy Church from Friday September 18th until Monday September 21st 2026.

The holy relic of Saint Amfilochius was enshrined from the Holy Island of Patmos by His Holiness Archimandrite Fr.

Before the Dismissal, His Holiness addressed a spiritual speech to the congregation, referring specifically to the message of the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy and Life-giving Cross and to the grace and power that derive from the Holy Cross of our Lord, which the faithful worship with reverence and on which we base the course of our lives.
