Celebration and completion of one year since the re-establishment of the Holy Monastery of Agia Paraskevi Makrinitsatranslated

At the Metheorto Vespers of the festival of the Holy Monastery of Agia Paraskevi Makrinitsa, on the afternoon of Monday July 27, 2026, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Dimitrias and Almyros Mr. Ignatios, in the presence of clergy and a multitude of pious pilgrims, officiated. The holy lectures were preached by Mr. Angelos Sefkas and Angelos Karatsiobanis from Thessaloniki. In his speech, His Holiness referred to the timeless value of monasticism for the life of the Church, emphasizing that from the first day of his pastorate he prayed and worked to keep the Holy Monasteries of the Local Church alive, noting characteristically: "When I came, what I asked God for was to preserve the monasteries that existed, creating the conditions for them to remain alive. But I could never have imagined that in our days monasteries would come back to life in our Metropolis".
