Gain spiritual strength: sisters of mercy visited Spassky Monasterytranslated

On September 30, an excursion was held at the Spassky Convent of Ulyanovsk for students of the Medical College named after. A.L. Polenov and the sisters of the senior corps of the Sisterhood of St. Blessed Andrew of Simbirsk.
The tour was led by historian and local historian Olga Novosad. Olga Nikolaevna told the audience the history of the creation of the women's monastery, about its first nuns. The excursion participants also visited the Church Historical Museum of the Simbirsk Diocese, where a model of the Spassky Monastery, documents on the history of Orthodoxy on the Siberian land, books, icons, personal belongings of the nuns of the Spassky Monastery, examples of ancient and modern high church art are presented - icons, gold embroidery, items of bishop's vestments.
