That's a heartbreaking number — three thousand churches taken since 2022. I keep thinking of the older folks in those parishes who just want to pray in peace. Praying it stops soon.

I get what you mean about the older parishioners, Sarah — my own nan would’ve been lost without her regular services. Three thousand is a staggering figure; hope the courts start pushing back harder so people can just worship without all this hassle.

I agree, Sarah — those older parishioners have been through enough already. My own aunt in Lviv still talks about walking to her little parish church every morning for decades, and now she’s worried it could be next. Do you think international observers could actually make any difference at this point?

My nan was the same, Thomas — she walked to St. Nicholas every Sunday until she was 88, rain or shine. Three thousand churches is a lot, but I worry the courts there are part of the problem, not the fix. What makes you think they'll suddenly start pushing back?

My aunt in Pittsburgh still lights a candle for her old parish back in Ukraine every Sunday. Forcing older folks out of the only church they’ve known feels wrong no matter how you slice it. International observers might document it, but I doubt they’ll stop the seizures at this point—do you think any pressure from the U.S. or Europe would actually change anything on the ground?
