The National Museum of the Romanian Peasant in Bucharest celebrated its 120th anniversary on Monday. On the occasion of the anniversary, the institution announced the organization of the project "Experimenting with the past. 120 years of heritage and reinvention".
In a message published on the official Facebook page, the representatives of the museum emphasized that the event is an opportunity to reflect on the role of cultural heritage in contemporary society.
"Anniversaries invite us to look back, but also forward. We believe that the past is not just a legacy that we preserve, but a resource for the present and the future. Cultural heritage gains meaning when it is researched, reinterpreted and shared further."
The anniversary program will include conferences, workshops, activities dedicated to the museum's archive, a concert, the creation of an anniversary calendar and video materials dedicated to the people and objects that have defined the institution's history.
Through this approach, the organizers aim to bring the museum's heritage and its role in preserving the Romanian cultural identity to the public's attention.
