Metropolitan Laurentiu: To be faithful to God, we must be obedient to Himtranslated

"Belief in the true God is not the simple confession and the simple declaration that God exists, because He exists even without us believing. In order to be faithful to God, we must be obedient to Him, i.e. fulfillers of God's will", Metropolitan Laurentiu of Transylvania said on Sunday.

His Eminence officiated the Holy Liturgy on the occasion of the patron saint in the Parish "Saint Martyr Laurențiu and Saint Hierarch Andrei Șaguna, Metropolitan of Transylvania" in the Architects Quarter of Cisnădie, Sibiu County.

"The main will of God that we must fulfill in our lives is a natural one: to have appreciation and gratitude towards our Benefactor, to respond to God's mercy which is boundless through love, through the feeling of appreciation, because when we love the Savior Christ, we fulfill His will, we draw closer to Him", emphasized the Metropolitan of Transylvania.

"Faith is, therefore, the totality of the virtues that we can acquire and which are nothing but the gift of God", explained His Holiness Father Laurentiu.
