"The priest serves the people entrusted to him by God, and any deed that strengthens the community becomes a work for the benefit of the whole people," emphasized Metropolitan Antonie of Bessarabia on Tuesday, when he met with the clergy and representatives of the local administration in the Orhei district.

"Whenever a church, a philanthropic work, a catechetical center or an initiative for the benefit of the community is supported, the whole society wins", said the hierarch at the meeting he had with Valentin Uncu, the president of the Orhei District.

The president of the district appreciated the activity carried out by the clergy, highlighting their contribution to the preservation of spiritual and cultural identity, to the consolidation of solidarity between people, and reaffirmed the willingness of the authorities to support parish initiatives and projects that meet the real needs of citizens.
