Metropolitan Alexy: “The construction and restoration of churches is our common cause”translated

On the day of the celebration of the Position of the Honorable Robe of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Moscow, Metropolitan Alexy of Chelyabinsk and Miass celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles in the village of Terenkul, Krasnoarmeysky district. The archpastor thanked the rector, Priest Pavel Kurbatov, and the parishioners participating in the restoration, emphasizing that caring for the temple is the responsibility of every Orthodox Christian. “This is the temple where we gather for the Eucharist, which translates as “Thanksgiving.” There is also a name - Liturgy, that is, a common cause. And the maintenance, repair, and construction of the temple is also our common cause. We want temples - we must build them. We must not forget the difficult times when people traveled hundreds of kilometers to attend worship. The Lord is giving us now...
