Metropolitan of Kilkis presides over Divine Liturgy at the Phanar (PHOTOS & VIDEO)

Metropolitan Bartholomew of Polyani and Kilkis presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Patriarchal Church of St. George at the Phanar on Sunday, July 12, 2026, in the presence of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, who attended prayerfully.
The news was announced by the Metropolitan himself through a social media post, in which he expressed his gratitude to the Ecumenical Patriarch for the blessing and honor bestowed upon him.
“On Sunday, July 12, 2026, with the blessing of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, I presided over the Divine Liturgy celebrated at the Patriarchal Church of St. George at the Phanar,” Metropolitan Bartholomew wrote.
The Divine Liturgy took place at the historic seat of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Constantinople, with the Ecumenical Patriarch participating prayerfully throughout the service.
In his message, the Metropolitan conveyed his appreciation for the opportunity to serve at the Patriarchal Church and for the paternal blessing of the Ecumenical Patriarch.
