Metropolitan Epifaniy prays before relics of Saint Barbara in Kyiv

Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine, Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, celebrated an Akathist to the Holy Great Martyr Barbara on September 22, 2026, at the Patriarchal Cathedral of Saint Volodymyr in Kyiv.

The service was celebrated before the incorrupt relics of Saint Barbara, which are kept at the cathedral.

Clergy of the cathedral and invited clergy joined Metropolitan Epifaniy in prayer during the service.

Following the Akathist, a memorial litany was celebrated at the grave of the late Patriarch Filaret.

The prayers honored the memory of the former head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church–Kyiv Patriarchate, who was buried at Saint Volodymyr Cathedral following his death.
