Metropolitan Epifaniy leads Akathist to Hieromartyr Macarius in Kyiv

Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine, Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, celebrated an Akathist to the Holy Hieromartyr Macarius, Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Rus’, on August 13, 2026.

The service was held at St. Volodymyr Patriarchal Cathedral in Kyiv before the incorrupt relics of Saint Macarius.

Joining Metropolitan Epifaniy in prayer were the cathedral’s rector, Archpriest Borys Tabachek, members of the cathedral clergy, and invited clergy.

Following the Akathist, a memorial litany was celebrated at the grave of the late Patriarch Filaret.
