Nicula Monastery: The days of prayer and pilgrimage dedicated to the patron saint of the Assumption of the Virgin have beguntranslated

At the Nicula Monastery, the days of prayer and pilgrimage dedicated to the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary began on Thursday.

The liturgical program began with the Akathist of the Protection of the Mother of God, the Clocks and the Holy Liturgy. During the day, from 15:00 the Sacrament of the Holy Olive is scheduled, and from 18:00 the Vespers and the Assumption Chapel. The day will end with Miezonoptica, Matins and First Hour, held from 21:00.

According to a press release, thousands of pilgrims are expected until Saturday to worship the miracle-working Icon of the Mother of God, painted in 1681 by priest Luca from Iclod, and to participate in the consecration of the monastic settlement.

Archimandrite Iustin Miron, abbot of the Nicula Monastery, urged the faithful to participate in the celebration not only through physical presence, but especially through prayer and communion.

"We warmly await you in our hearts to stop in the garden of the Mother of God in our country, at the Nicula Monastery, a place sanctified by the presence of the miracle-working icon, which, beyond the ages, shines like a window between the universes."
