Lecture “Apostle of Siberia and America”translated

As part of events dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, the Vyborg Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Alvar Aalto Library invite residents and guests of the city to an educational lecture “Apostle of Siberia and America.” The meeting will take place on July 15 at 18:00.
The lecture is dedicated to the life and works of St. Innocent (Veniaminov) - an outstanding educator, scientist and bishop. For his many years of activity among indigenous peoples, he was rightly nicknamed “The Apostle of Siberia and America.” In 1977, Saint Innocent was canonized as a saint, and his legacy remains to this day the most important part of the cultural and spiritual wealth of Russia.
The lecturer will be priest Mikhail Kotov, chairman of the Missionary Department of the Vyborg Diocese, master of theology and cultural specialist.
