Procession with the Icon of the Mother of God “Vladimir-Novopolotsk”translated

On June 6, the day of the celebration of the Icon of the Mother of God “Vladimir”, a religious procession took place in Novopolotsk. The church procession was led by Archbishop Theodosius, Honorary Rector of the parish of the church in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God “Unexpected Joy”.

The solemn procession was attended by: rector of the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God “Unexpected Joy” Archpriest Alexander Karandey, Archpriest Georgy Skobey, Protodeacon Andrey Skobey, parishioners, residents and guests of Novopolotsk.

Before the start of the religious procession, the Divine Liturgy was performed.

The religious procession with the icon of the Mother of God “Vladimir - Novopolotsk” proceeded along the main street of the city to Builders Square. Archbishop Theodosius delivered a sermon.

Then a prayer service was held, at which His Eminence Bishop Theodosius offered special prayers before the icon of the Mother of God for Belarus.

Praise God for this day! I noticed that they went all the way to the Constructors square with the icon – beautiful place, full of people. The prayers for Belarus at the end also made me think of my own people there.

Thank God for that too! The main street up to the Constructors square is really full of people usually, I think many stopped to look. Those prayers for Belarus also reminded me of an uncle of mine who lives near Polotsk. Do you have relatives who came to work?
