The ark with a piece of the staff of the prophet Moses, brought to the North Caucasus from the St. Nicholas Monastery on the island of Andros (Greece) with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, was greeted with the ringing of bells in the Assumption Cathedral of Makhachkala.

The secretary of the diocese, the rector of the cathedral church, Priest Pavel Kalikin, performed incense in front of the shrine. The troparion, kontakion and magnification to the prophet and God-seer Moses were sounded.

On September 13, the ark will be in the Assumption Cathedral.

Believers have access to the shrine from 7.30 to 15.00.
