Short but strict: why is the Assumption Fast so important?translated

At the end of summer in the Orthodox Church the time of Dormition Lent begins. It is short, lasting only two weeks, but very significant. The fast received its name from the feast of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which immediately follows it.
