The implementation of the proposed initiatives will improve the conduct of the All-Russian Velikoretsk religious procession. The delegation of the Kirov region visited Diveevo, Nizhny Novgorod region, to study the practice of organizing pilgrimage events, as well as, in general, the whole range of issues related to religious tourism. The delegation included the secretary of the Vyatka diocese, Priest Vitaly Lapshin, the abbess of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky convent in the city of Kirov, Abbess Thaddeus (Sivtsova), as well as the director of the Tourism Development Center of the Kirov Region, Alexey Cheptsov. The main purpose of the visit is to adapt Nizhny Novgorod developments for the development of pilgrimage infrastructure around the main spiritual shrine of the region - the village of Velikoretskoye, where the multi-day all-Russian Velikoretskoye religious procession is held annually. Over the course of two days, the trip participants got acquainted with the organization of a tent camp for 4 thousand people and studied the food system for pilgrims.
