IPS Calinic, exhortations to families who want children: Make your home a place of prayertranslated

On the feast of Saints Joachim and Ana, Archbishop Calinic of Suceava and Rădăuți urged families who want children to pray and cultivate patience in humility.

"Make your family and your home a place of prayer, remembering that peace, faithfulness and good weeping, born of humility, bring down the Kingdom of Heaven in your heart," exhorted IPS Calinic.

His Eminence explained that prayer has a special rhythm compared to worldly things: "God is the One who does not delay, but prepares, the One who seeks the depth of the root, not the shine of the leaf."

Archbishop Calinic of Suceava and Rădăuți urges spouses who want to have children to become "gates through which grace can pass".

"Saints Joachim and Anna were not only Mary's parents according to the flesh, but, by bequeathing her to God from infancy, they prepared the way for the coming into the world of the incarnate Son of the heavenly Father."

Patience! His Holiness Father Calinic presented Saints Joachim and Ana, the parents of the Mother of God, as an example of patience and prayer.

Thanks for the article. I especially remember the words about the fact that God is not late, but prepares the depth of the root, and not the shine of the leaves. My husband and I also had years of waiting, and this thought really helped us not to lose patience. It’s good that they reminded us of Saints Joachim and Anna as an example.
