The National Institute of Public Health (INSP) promotes balanced nutrition and physical activity through a new national campaign carried out between September and October 2026.
The action is aimed at children, families, office workers and people over 65 years of age.
The initiative aims to raise awareness of the role of diet and exercise in maintaining health. The message of this year's edition is "Healthy choices today, a better life tomorrow!"
According to the INSP, lifestyle changes have favored the more frequent consumption of processed and ultra-processed products, while the intake of fruits, vegetables and fiber remains insufficient. At the same time, sedentary lifestyle and long periods spent sitting are risk factors for non-communicable diseases.
"The combination of physical inactivity, long time spent in a sitting position and unhealthy diet contributes to the increase in the prevalence of obesity and other non-communicable diseases," say the representatives of the institute.
