The first museum dedicated to the War of Independence of 1821 will be established in Greecetranslated

The first museum dedicated to the War of Independence of 1821 will be established in Greece, the Greek Ministry of Culture informs.
The project was recently formalized with the signing of a donation agreement for the restoration of a former military complex in Athens, where the new cultural institution will operate.
The museum will bring together artifacts, historical documents and works of art from public and private collections. The project aims both to preserve the heritage and to capitalize on the historical memory of the struggle for Greek independence.
The donation agreement worth almost 12 million euros was signed by the Minister of National Defense, Nikos Dendias, the Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni, and the president of the "Anthony E. Komninos" Foundation, Olga Mentzafou.
